Dionne Addai
DIONNE ADDAI (they/she) is an actor, writer, director, and teaching artist local to Chicago. Their artistic practice centers on educating in order to encourage political action and mutual aid. As an actor she’s recently been in Nina Simone: Four Women (Merrimack Repertory Theater), The Secret Yes (Filament Theatre), Eclipsed (Pegasus/Theater on the Lake), and We are Pussy Riot (Red Tape Theatre). Isaly Viana
ISALY “ISA” VIANA (she/her) is a Chicago born & bred actress, artist, coach, and educator represented by Shirley Hamilton Talent. She’s trained at Second City, Annoyance Theater, Acting Studio Chicago, Black Box and Green Room Studio. After reading the painfully hilarious Fabuloso! by Makasha Copeland this past summer, she is excited to work with Sideshow Theatre again to workshop Preston Choi’s Drive-In at the End of the World. As a proud Latina, working with BIPOC folx and/or telling stories centered on BIPOC voices is her priority. She’s been seen on stage (selected credits) in An Xmas Cuento Remix (16th Street Theater), Back in the Day (UrbanTheater), De Troya (Halcyon Theater), as well as on tv’s Chicago Med and the theatrical filming of Brujaja (UrbanTheater for Destino’s Festival). When not acting, she is a full time special education aid, slam poetry coach, and equity in education champion. A life goal of hers is to be Benny the Bull for a day.
Casie Morell
CASIE MORELL (she/her) Casie is excited to join the SM Team for the world premiere of In Every Generation. She was last at Victory Gardens for Something Clean, a Rivendell and Sideshow Theater production. Most recently she has worked at the Drury Lane Theater and the Mercury Theater. A proud Nashville native, Casie has also worked at 16th Street, the Chicago Children’s Theatre, First Folio, Theatre at the Center, Marriott Lincolnshire, Porchlight, Music Theatre Works, with the Northwestern Opera. She has also worked regionally at the Clarence Brown Theatre in Knoxville, TN, The Weidner Center in Green Bay WI, and Peninsula Players Theater. The Chicago Inclusion Project together with Victory Gardens Theater have announced a new season-long collaboration.
The two companies will partner on an inclusive casting process for Victory Garden’s 2021-2022 season, giving Chicago theater artists access to roles from which they might traditionally have been excluded. The Chicago Inclusion Project will handle all casting for Queen of the Night, In Every Generation, cullud wattah, and the Ignite Chicago reading series and 20/50 Play Festival.
