Victory Gardens Resident Directors have a committed relationship with the Theater, and are offered the opportunity to direct productions, produce workshops and readings, and contribute to the artistic work of VG.

Lili-Anne Brown

A native Chicagoan, Lili-Anne Brown works nationally as a director, actor and educator, and is a Resident Director at Victory Gardens. The former artistic director of Bailiwick Chicago, she directed Dessa Rose, Passing Strange, See What I Wanna See (Steppenwolf Theatre Garage Rep), and the world premiere of Princess Mary Demands Your Attention by Aaron Holland, while producing several other award-winning shows during her tenure.
Jess McLeod
(she/her/hers)Jess McLeod is a director & social justice advocate specializing in risky new work about America. She recently served as Resident Director for the three-year run of Hamilton Chicago. Regional credits include Woolly Mammoth, Steppenwolf, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Long Wharf, The Gift, A Red Orchid Theatre.
