Fourteen year-old Maya Hooks is an actor, producer, and award winning screenwriter from the Morgan Park Community, Chicago. Maya has worked at the Artistic Home Theater, The Beverly Arts Center, Collaboraction, BAM and Theater 47. Maya’s latest project, Black Girls Vs. Ambiguous, where she is the co- writer, producer and lead actor, is currently making its way through film festivals. Maya is also a part-time film student at the Bronx Community College while being in the 8th grade. She is working extremely hard balancing school, acting classes and auditions.
