Brittany Pyle

Brittany Pyle is the Director of Production and Audience Experience at the Chicago Humanities Festival, a non-profit year-round operation that curates over 130 events in over 40 venues annually, and is a steering committee member of the Chicago Cultural Accessibility Consortium (CCAC). For the last 8 years, Brittany has worked with the Chicago Humanities Festival on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives and has implemented new accessible procedures for virtual events in 2020-2021. Through an ongoing expansion of accessible services provided by way of open captions, ASL interpretation, audio description, sensory-friendly kits, and preferred accessible seating, participation in accessible services at the Chicago Humanities Festival has grown from fulfilling 49 accessible accommodation requests for 12 people in 2013 to fulfilling 973 accessible accommodation requests for 407 people in 2019. Brittany has presented at LEAD, 3Arts, Universal Access Day in Raleigh 2017, CCAC professional development workshops in Chicago. She was the recipient of the 2016 John F. Kennedy Center LEAD Emerging Leader Award.
