Summary

Congressman Dixon McDaniels, a moderate Republican from Texas, is caught in the crossfire between his liberal wife, a scientist studying global warming, and his conservative chief of staff, an evangelical believer in the end of times. Over the course of a weekend, the McDaniels grapple with ideological differences, as Dixon attempts to push an energy bill through Congress. All the while, a hurricane gathers force off the Gulf Coast threatening his estate and its surrounding terrain.
