Kathyrn Jones performs, Queen Elizabeth's Dwarf to launch the Victory Gardens Access Project 2008-2009 Crip Slam series at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln, November 23 at 7:30 pm.
Jones plays Mistress Thomasina de Paris, an actual dwarf in the court of Queen Elizabeth. She has appeared in that role for the last five summers at the Bristol Renaissance Faire.
The show explores the personal relationship dwarves and other people with disabilities played in the queen's court and during the Renaissance. Following her performance, Jones will be interviewed by Edward Wheatley, Associate Professor and Edward L. Surtz, S.J., Professor of Medieval Literature at Loyola University in Chicago.
