What Does The Sun Sound Like?

Written & Performed by
Arlene Malinowski

The totally true tales of a hearing daughter growing up in a deaf family and culture.

This award winning solo show has played to sold-out houses and standing ovations throughout the country. Funny, touching and poignant, these stories are told through sign language and voice using both Deaf and hearing storytelling techniques which challenges the audience to share a world beyond their experience.  As a Child of Deaf Adults, CODAS stand with one foot in the hearing world and the other in the Deaf world.  This experience allows a unique view of the Deaf culture- a community of people defined not by their disability but by their shared language, culture, values and norms.  A community which believes, "We're not broke- so don't try to fix us.

These stories are about hearing and Deaf, parents and children, love and forgiveness and finding yourself amid the clash of cultures in this melting pot we call America. They are stories for anyone who has ever felt different.
