Congratulations to the cast and crew of our 2008 smash hit Four Places, which just earned two 2007-2008 Equity Jeff Award Nominations - one for ensemble playwright Joel Drake Johnson for Best New Work, and another for Mary Ann Thebus for Actress in a Principal Role - Play.
This is Mary Ann's 11th Jeff nomination, although she's never taken home the trophy. Everyone at Victory Gardens agrees her universally acclaimed performance as Peggy in Four Places was her finest work ever on a Chicago stage, so let's hope this is the year that Mary Ann finally breaks her Susan Lucci curse!
Our 2007-2008 season opener, The Defiant Muse by ensemble playwright Nicholas Patricca, also received two design nods from the Jeff Committee: one for for scenic designer Keith Pitts, and another Nick Sandys, for fight choreography.
The 40th Annual Jeff Awards ceremony will be held on Monday, October 20,
