Deck the walls with 99 bottles of beer and raise your glasses to Drinking & Writing Vol. IV: The 12 Steps of Xmas, back by popular demand for the 2008 holiday season as a special holiday gift from Victory Gardens’ new Fresh Squeezed series of late-night shows and off-beat programming.

Star and creator Steve Mosqueda returns to his barstool with a new co-host, fellow drinker, writer, and Neo-Futurist Phil Ridarelli for another round of exploring that addictive holiday called Christmas. Book your tickets early for the reprise of last year’s sold-out sensation, Drinking & Writing Vol. IV: The 12 Steps of Xmas.

According to Mosqueda and Ridarelli, the true meaning of Christmas spirit comes out when it’s drunk. In the latest exploration of the connection between creativity and alcohol, Mosqueda and Ridarelli, with the help of Bukowski, Kerouac, Capote, Fitzgerald, Cheever and others uncork the myths and traditions of the holidays. So don’t miss this smart, funny late-night homage to great writers and classic writings about the holidays---and yes, the bar will be open throughout the show. Specials will include $2 Pabst Blue Ribbons, a $4 special on a dry-hopped holiday ale brewed by Pete Crowley of RockBottom Brewery in Chicago, and more. Audience participation, quizzes and free prizes are also part of the show, which wouldn’t be complete without Kate the Bartender.
