On the Verge

Remy Bumppo
By Eric Overmyer
Directed by James Bohnen

“A frolicsome jaunt through a continuum of space, time, history, geography, feminism and fashion… a thoroughly serendipitous journey.” -The New York Times

Remy Bumppo adds to the 2007/08 season an imaginative production of this journey through time. Brave, willing, and yearning to see it all, three women explorers enthusiastically begin their trek to Terra Incognita in 1888, only to discover that they are adrift in time. Overmyer crafts a linguistic labyrinth for his heroines as they navigate through uncharted territory populated with pop culture and possibility. On the Verge is presented as a companion piece to Polly Teale's Bronte.
