Julieanne Ehre is the Artistic Director of the classics-based theater company, Greasy Joan & Co., where she most recently directed The Oresteia. Her directing work at Greasy Joan includes the American Premiere of Pam Gems’ adaptation of Lady From the Sea by Henrik Ibsen as well as House of Bernarda Alba, Antigone, The Nose, among others. As part of Lincoln Center Theatre’s Directors Lab she directed a version of Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull, she has also directed for Victory Gardens Theatre, Curious Theatre Branch, Chicago Dramatists Workshop, and Silk Road Theatre Project. Julieanne began training in Viewpoints in 1996 with Anne Bogart and the SITI Company and went on to assist director Tina Landau. She has taught the Viewpoints at The THeatre School at DePaul University, with Greasy Joan & Co., and while earning her MFA in directing at Northwestern University.
