Chris Jones calls Four Places one of the Best of 2008

It's that time again, Chicago's top critics are publishing their year-end "top 10 shows of the year" lists.

And while we know it happened last spring...finally...someone out there was able to access his long term memory (hello, Performink contributors?), and recall what a fantastic production Victory Gardens mounted last March with our smash hit world premiere of Joel Drake Johnson's dark family comedy Four Places.

None other than Chris Jones, chief critic for the Chicago Tribune, named Four Places to his list of Top 10 Shows of 2008.  "Sandy Shinner's production featured superb Chicago acting," he wrote, praising the work of Jennifer Avery, Mary Ann Thebus, and Meg Thalken.  Plus, he sent a special shout-out to Peter Burns for delivering one of the most outstanding performances of the year.

See why, when you click on our Four Places web page, full of production photos, online video, even behind-the-scenes moments from rehearsal on YouTube, here.

So thanks, Chris.  Thanks for remembering - and including - Four Places in a season chock full of fabulous productions, by Chicago theaters large and small.  And even though you weren't able to return to see how The Snow Queen has been knockin' it out of the ballpark this holiday season, we're still happy to link to your full list of Top 10 Shows of 2008, here

Now, what will Hedy have to say?:)  Stay tuned to victorygardens.org, and have a wonderful holiday season!
