Time Out Chicago names Victory Gardens' Family Saturday series 2nd best "Cheap Thrill" of '08!
We're thrilled to announce Time Out Chicago hailed Victory Gardens' Family Saturday series one of the Top Ten Cheap Thrills for Kids in 2008 in its year-end issue.
And why not!? What other Chicago theater attempts to break down the traditional barriers to theater-going by offering sitting services for kids ages 4 and up, while parents watch the show - six times per season?
None other, that's who!
So parents, mark your calendar now, and see for yourself why Family Saturday is getting such rave reviews:
Saturday, February 7 at 5 pm is our next Family Saturday performance, in conjunction with our much-anticipated world premiere of Gloria Bond Clunie's Living Green.
Parents, you'll get to watch Clunie's modern-day homage to A Raisin in the Sun stress-free, without worrying about your little ones squirming in the seat next to you. Meanwhile, VGT's education staff will keep kids 4 to 12 entertained with theater games, crafts and storytelling exercises upstairs in our rehearsal room, while your older kids can (and should, particularly in the case of Living Green) join their parents for the show. Click here to learn more about Living Green, and why it's an ideal show for parents and their teen children to see together.
Of course, the kids activities are designed to relate back to what you parents will be seeing on stage, so after the show, you and your children can have a heart-to-heart conversation about the important family themes of Living Green.
Single tickets to Living Green on Saturday, February 7 are $48, plus a $5 sitting fee per child.
Better yet, plan four more guaranteed dates with your husband and wife, by including Living Green in a deeply discounted 4-play Family Saturday subscription to the rest of our 2008-09 season, for only $128!
