Never the Sinner

Written by John Logan
Directed by Terry McCabe
September 22 – October 22, 1995

Never the Sinner, playwright John Logan’s first, impressive drama, has been triumphantly revived in a smashing 10th anniversary production at Victory Gardens Theater. Introduced here at the old Stormfield Theatre, Logan’s recounting of Chicago’s “Crime of the Century,” the murder of 14-year-old Bobby Franks by Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb in 1924, has been substantially revised by the author over the last decade. It is now an even more powerful work, and with director Terry McCabe returning to stage it with mature command, it holds the stage with riveting force and increased depth.
